Parting is such sweet sorrow

Not much to say here. Amon is gone. Well, actually he is sitting in a hotel in North Little Rock. He has to spend the night and then tomorrow he goes to MEPS. After MEPS he will fly to Ft Benning in Columbus, Georgia.

This morning we all went down to Mom and Dad's to visit with Amon as he prepared to leave. He packed, cleaned out his car, and played with the kids. Later, Dad, Mom, Amon, Ryan, and I went out to breakfast before he had to meet the recruitment officer. We had fun getting in some last minute teasing. :)

Then the goodbyes and the tears came. It just doesn't seem real. Maybe it is because we've been through this before with Travis and we know we have two more times to go. I don't know. All I know is that it will be different now. A year ago, the only person in our family that didn't live on the hill, was Kerry. And he was only an hour away at school. Now, it's just Mom, Dad, and Ryan in the house. Things change, huh?
